Abigail Mollard Jett
Montes
December 1, 1935 – March 8, 2026
Hunt United Methodist Church
Starts at 1:00 pm (Central time)
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, Abigail Mollard Jett Montes passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. Abigail was born December 1, 1935 in Palestine, Texas to loving parents, William and Imogene Butler Mollard.
Abigail spent the early part of her life and attended school in Palestine, TX; where she met J.B. Jett and they were married there at her parent’s house, December 17, 1953. They were proud parents of five children: daughters, Monica Lynn Jett Robinson Pullium, Cynthia Jett Scouton; and sons, Johnny Bob, Jr, James Bryan, and William “Bill” Dwaine Jett. When the children were young, they moved to Dallas where Abigail worked as an insurance adjuster for hurricane and flood disasters.
After J.B.’s passing, Abigail moved to Kerrville to be near her two sisters. She met and married Marco Montes. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals-On-Wheels and habitat for Humanity for several years. She also sold Juice Plus products where she made several good friends. After her husband passed, she moved to 220 Harper Assisted Living. She enjoyed her time there and the loving atmosphere. Needing additional memory care support, she then moved to Arbor View Nursing & Rehab and was under the excellent care of them and Peterson Hospice at her passing. Special thanks to her aides and RN, James who were so kind to her.
Abigail attended Hunt Methodist Church for many years where she made many friends. Those faithful friends cared for her and offered transportation to services for years while Abigail was in assisted living. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Abigail was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darwin Tex Mollard; husbands, J.B. Jett and Marco Montes; infant baby James Bryan Jett; daughter, Monica Robinson-Pullium; and grandson, Camdon Jett.
Those who will remember her spunky joy are sons, Bob Jett, Bill Jett; daughter, Cynthia Scouton; sisters, Billie Gene Mollard Johns and Darlene Mollard Redden; and sister-in-law, Rita Mollard.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Hunt Methodist Church, Hunt, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hunt Methodist Church, Meals-On-Wheels, Dietert Center, Peterson Hospice or to a charity of choice.
