Beverly J. Brandt

Beverly Jean Winters Brandt, 92, entered the gates of Heaven surrounded by family in the afternoon of May 20, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia to William Daniel Winters and Ollie Leland Wyatt on August 28, 1931. Beverly was the youngest of 7 children. Growing up Beverly and her family lived in several places throughout West Virginia where she was always heavily involved in school and church. Her favorite activities were singing in the choir and playing the French horn in the marching band and school orchestra, she also played the piano. Beverly’s deep love of music would later be passed down to her children and grandchildren. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

Beverly met the love of her life, Lester Hilmar Brandt, in Washington DC in 1950 when she was 18 years old. It was love at first sight. It has been told that when Beverly first met Lester, she whispered to her friend that he was the man she was going to marry. And that she did. Lester and Beverly were married June 14, 1951, in Hagerstown, Maryland. They would then go on to have five children. During their almost 73 years of marriage, Lester and Beverly had many adventures and lived all over the country due to Lester being in the Air Force.

Throughout the years Beverly worked as a bookkeeper but primarily she was a stay-at-home mom. With five children she had her hands full! As mentioned earlier Beverly loved her music. She continued to play the keyboard throughout her life until arthritis made it difficult to play. She also enjoyed bird watching, puzzles, playing board games with her grandbabies and snacking on peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. (Just trust her, it’s delicious!) Beverly was the sweetest of women, with the best sense of humor, boy did she love to laugh! She was loving, loyal, honest and a fierce mama bear. Beverly’s greatest joy was her family, she loved them with all her heart.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father, William; mother, Ollie; siblings, Harold Winters, Audrey Hamilton, Helen Anderson, Marge Macri, June Keeper, Dale Winters; son, Lester Brandt Jr.; and grandson, Chris Klingemann.

She is survived by her husband, Lester; children, Rebecca Kleibrink, Dean Brandt (Norma), Wayne Brandt (Brenda), Teresa Klingemann (Doc); grandchildren, James, Stephanie, Scott, Travis, Valerie, Kristi, Greg and Deanna; and numerous great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Peterson Hospice for their excellent care of Beverly in her final days, especially Julie, whom Beverly loved and adored.

Beverly, Bev, BJ, Mom, Nanny, we love you and miss you. We know because of your unyielding faith that this is not goodbye but see you soon.
