Charles Stork, 90, of Briarwood Lane in Kerrville died at Peterson Hospital July 30th. The funeral service will be held at Riverside Church of Christ on Thursday, August 6th at 10 am, with burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston at 2:30PM.
Chuck was born on November 5th, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan to Frank and Helen Stork. He left home at sixteen to join the Army, but was assigned to the Air Force. His military career took him to Korea, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Thailand and Spokane, Washington. While stationed in Bangor, Maine he married Shirley Walters. They had been married for more than fifty-five years at her death in 2011.
Chuck loved working with wood, and used his knowledge of construction to help others. At two different congregations he started a ministry where groups of volunteers helped people with home repairs at no cost. He did his best to faithfully follow God.
Chuck is survived by his wife Betty Stork and by three of his four sons, Joe, MIke and Scott, as well as a daughter, Nancy. His son Gary preceded him in death. He has twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
