Charlett A. Andersen Banta of Stonewall, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her residence.
Charlett was born May 11, 1951 in Kerrville, Texas to David and Lilian Houy Andersen. She grew in mostly in Kerrville, but during high school the family moved to Carrizo Springs as her father was a Texas Ranger. She married G.W. Banta in Kerrville August, 1978. The family moved to Alice, and later back to Fredericksburg. Charlett and G.W. moved many places throughout G.W.’s military career, but returned to the Hill Country in 2005. Charlett was a dedicated nurse’s aide for Hill Country Memorial Hospital for 29 years, and was proud to receive the Nightingale Award after 25 years of faithful service. She loved her grandchildren and spent many years helping raise them; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy! In her younger years she enjoyed fitness and swimming in the pool with her grandchildren. She loved to garden, tend to her crepe myrtles and banana trees, and fish in her backyard pool; her own personal oasis. She also loved her fur babies (dachshunds).
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Charles Andersen.
Charlett is survived by her husband, G.W. Banta of Stonewall; two sons, Michael Taylor and Kevin Taylor both of Stonewall; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford Andersen of Llano and Andrew Andersen of Kerrville.
A visitation will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 and funeral services held at 2PM with Rev. Sam Ligon officiating the service at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville TX.
