Danny L. Weinheimer

Danny “Dan” Lee Weinheimer of Mountain Home, TX passed away on April 1st, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family and an abundance of love.

Funeral Services and will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6th, 2023, at 10:00 AM and visitation will begin an hour prior at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Sunset Cemetery in Mountain Home, TX. Arrangements will be made by Kerrville Funeral Home.

Dan was born in Kerrville, TX to Selma Louis Reeh and Lawrence Reinhold Weinheimer on February 24th, 1945. He attended Notre Dame School until 9th grade and graduated from Tivy High School in 1962. He volunteered for service in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and serving in Turkey during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he worked at the Kerrville Telephone Company until his retirement in 2002. 

He married Sandra Jean Dreiss in 1976 and together they raised Sherie, Chris, and Kyle Weinheimer. Dan and Sandy were married for 47 years. From 2003-2015, He worked at A&A Tire with his wife and family, starting and managing the Lube Center. He attended Gates of the City Church in Kerrville, TX, and enjoyed serving on the Host Team and making coffee for the church services.

Dan enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, gardening with his wife, having fish fries, and making deer sausage with family. Known as “Opa” by his grandchildren you could easily find Dan engaged in conversation with his family over the passions they shared in shop projects, guns, diesel engines, and all things outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Sherie, sons; Chris and Kyle, son-in-law; Khris, daughters-in-law; Angelique and Caitlin, grandchildren; Ryan, Kelly, Alex, Canyon, Miles, granddaughter-in-law Caitlyn, and great grandchildren; Daniel, Ruth and Nathanael.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Lawrence, father-in-law Francis, brother Calvin, granddaughter Kirstyn, and beloved Chihuahua Paquita.

Pall Bearers: Anthony Leon, Matthias Leon, Caevon Bridges, Tyven Gray, Dionte Rhoades, and Miles Robinson

Honorary Pall Bearers: Kermit Klaehn and Lloyd Kneese

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Treasure Commission to spread the Gospel of Jesus to India at P.O. BOX 294955 Kerrville, TX 78029 or your local hospice care facility.

The Weinheimer Family would like to thank Kerrville Funeral Home, Hospice Care, and family and friends for sharing their love and prayers to help ease the burden of our loss.

We share our hope in Jesus and know we will see Dan again one day.
