David Irwin JR

David Johnston Irwin Jr. 94, of Kerrville passed from this life on Friday December 16, 2016 in Kerrville, TX.

David was born August 25, 1922 to Clara (Ferrall) Irwin and D. J. Irwin Sr. in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1942 he graduated from PSJA High school in Pharr, Texas.

During World War II he enlisted in the US Army and served as a control tower operator in the South Pacific. He was discharged as a Sargent in 1945. He then returned to Corpus Christi, TX and worked at ALCOA as a salesman. He later attended and graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville with a degree in business. He married Ruby Lynn Irwin in 1953.

David worked for Branif Air Lines and then Rohr Pharmaceuticals in El Paso Texas. Later he moved to Richardson, TX and worked for Owens Sausage before retiring and moving to Kerrville. David was a member of First Christian Church of Kerrville, the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He also was an avid golfer.

A Celebration of David's life will take place 3 PM Monday, December 19, 2016 at First Christian Church,1900 Goat Creek Road, Kerrville, TX 78028.
