Donna Edwards

Donna Edwards, 89, of Kerrville passed from this life on February 28, 2017 at a local care facility. Donna was born September 23, 1927 in Mangum, OK to Edgar and Alta (Mincey) Wheeler.

Donna was one of six children that were raised on the family farm near Mangum, OK. In 1947, she married the love of her life Ray Edwards. Shortly after marriage they moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she worked for Southwestern Bell for 28 years. In the Valley, Donna was active in the Sports Car Club of America, the Order of the Eastern Star, Telephone Company Pioneers of America and the Lutheran Church. After retirement she and Ray moved to Lake LBJ for several years. While living there they followed the NASCAR circuit in their motor home for 10 years. They then moved to Kerrville to be near their daughter Shelly Lidiak and her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Alta Wheeler; sisters, Reda McGuffin, Joyce Heatly and brothers, Edward Wheeler and Jerry Wheeler.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include, husband of 69 years, Ray Edwards of Kerrville, TX; daughter, Shelly Lidiak and husband Tim of Kerrville, TX; granddaughters, Kate Lidiak of Odessa, TX, Connie Vick and husband Colton of Portland, OR; sister, Sue Hughes of Lake Jackson, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held at a later date.
