Elizabeth Ellen Chase

Elizabeth Ellen Horseman Chase, “Betty”, peacefully passed away on December 1st, 2022.

She was born on January 7th, 1941, in Ohio, to a lower middle class working American family, to the late Harold and Katherine Horseman, with four younger sisters, Carol, Kay, Bonnie, and Gloria, and one older brother, Bill. She met Stephen Chase, and they became high school sweethearts. They graduated both from Coventry H.S., and were married on September 8th, 1961.

Stephen and Betty remained happily married for nearly 54 years, living in Ohio, Rhode Island, Florida, and Texas until Stephen passed in 2015. She survived him another seven years, often reminiscing about him and the love they shared together. She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and head strong women who was never shy about sharing her thoughts. She has found peace now and is certain to be holding hands and sharing in laughter, in a better place, with her husband Stephen.

Betty is survived by her daughter Peggy Escalante, of New Braunfels, TX, son Ray (Amy) Chase of Austin, TX, son Charles (Theresa) Chase of England, grandchildren - Daean Chase, Stephen Chase, Caitlin (Garrett) Crow, Anthony (Celeste) Mucha, Lyric (Chad) Hutson, Aleigha Escalante, Reyna Giles, and Rylee Chase, great grandchildren Archer, Jayden, Maverick, and Kayden, her sister Bonnie Horseman, of Kerrville TX, sister-in-law Sheila (Gene) Green of Akron, OH, and sister-in-law Darlene (Bill) Horseman of San Antonio, TX.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home (830) 895-5111.
