Frankie Griffin

Geraldine (Geri) Griffin (88) left this earthly existence peacefully with her family by her side to the open arms of her Lord and her family waiting in heaven. She was born July 21,1929 in Fort Worth , Tx. To Manuel and Hattie Redmond. She married her husband Ken in 1949 and was married until his death in 2003. She moved to Hunt, Tx. in 2004 after the death of her husband.

She had a zest for life and love for the Lord and will be remembered as a soul who never met a stranger. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Geri spent many years volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America and The Children's Service League in Midland, Tx. In Hunt, she was an active member of the Hunt Garden Club (and especially enjoyed working with the children at The Discovery Garden Project at the Hunt School), Sew and Sews and active in the Dietert Center bridge program. She was a lifelong bridge player and played with several clubs over the years. She was a long time member of Hunt United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and baking for friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ken, and sons Mike Griffin, Randy Griffin and grandson Aaron Griffin.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Anderson (Jim), grandchildren, Kara Brown (Kevin), Jaime Wischoff (Scott), Lauren Canlas (Bernabe), Kendall Warren (Jeremy), Christopher Griffin (Caitlin), Katy Griffin and Kyleigh Griffin, brother in laws, Gerry Griffin (Sandy), Larry Griffin (Sandy), as well as 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hunt United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM, August 21, 2017, with burial following at Hunt Japonica Cemetery, Hunt, Tx. Kerrville Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hunt Garden Club, P.O. Box 873, Hunt, Tx. 78024
