Jack David Andrew, Jr. was born on December 7, 1943, to Jack D. Andrew Sr. and Nadine Hustead Andrew in Odessa, Texas. Jack peacefully took his final road trip on September 8, 2025. Born with wanderlust in his heart and a knack for finding the best RV parking spots, Jack lived life like a scenic highway; full of adventure, unexpected detours, and loyal companions (especially the four-legged kind).
Jack was a 1962 graduate of McCamey High School. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 20 plus years of dedicated service where he worked hard, made lifelong friends, and probably told the best stories. Jack was married for 40 years to the love of his life Carolyn Duke Andrew. After Carolyn retired, they traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico in their R.V., with their dogs, living their best lives until Carolyns’ passing. Jack later shared nearly 10 years of love and laughter with Jan Reese Andrew.
Preceded in death by his parents Jack and Nadine Andrew. His wives Carolyn and Jan. His beloved son Leland David Andrew. His granddaughter Chrystyna Chavez and Great Grandson Shawn Chavez. Though they have gone ahead, we imagine them all together now-probably parked under a perfect sunset, dogs at their feet, and stories flowing freely.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Dawn Andrew Fay, his brother, Glenn Andrew, and wife Leta, who Jack always said “hung the moon”. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Heath Andrew along with his children Ava and Easton, Trey Andrew and his wife Consuela and their children Ryleigh Carolyn, Gunnar and Grayson, Patrick Chavez and his children Zachary, Amber, Sunday, Everan and Joseph, Christopher Chavez and his former wife Annette and their children Chrystyna, Angel and Serenity and Leland’s children Caeden, River and Forrest Andrew. Special Nephew and Niece, Clay and Ambra and their families and his dogs, Remi and Parker.
Jack had a great love of sports and all things outdoors, especially fishing. We all share many great fishing memories with Jack. Jack had a gift for conversation and his slow Southern drawl and kind nature automatically drew people in. He often could be found chatting with strangers and friends alike- whether at a casino, an RV park, or any where life took him. His RV was more than a vehicle; it was a symbol of his love for travel, freedom, and the simple joys of life shared with his dogs and loved ones. He leaves behind a trail of cherished memories, and a family that adored him, and a legacy of kindness, humor and love.
