Joseph Samuel "Joe" Bubnich, born May 21, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 1, 2026, at a care facility in Kerrville, Texas.

Throughout his ninety-one years, Joe lived a life guided by steadfast principles and strength. He served his country in the USMC during Korea; retired as a supervisory special agent for the U.S. Justice Department, and served the State of Texas as a Colonel in the Texas State Guard. Throughout his life he received many awards and decorations on the state and federal level; including a letter of honorable service from the U.S. president. Joe’s passing marks the conclusion of a long life, characterized by service to others. With respectful remembrance, his journey is honored and his memory held with regard by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM, Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 PM, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
