Kathryn Danielle Skipping-Reynolds

Kathryn Danielle Skipping-Reynolds, age 26, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at home in Center Point, Texas. Most often known as Katy, she was born on May 20, 1997 in McAllen, Texas to parents, Andrew Scott Reynolds and Shileen Skipping. Early in her childhood she moved to Danville, Illinois with her mother before returning to Texas in 2008.  It was remembered that as a child when she fell, she always jumped back up with “I’m okay!” and ran on. After graduating from Business Education Technology Academy in Edinburg, Texas she attended Northwest Vista College in San Antonio while working as a cashier at Home Depot in Boerne, Texas. Then, after attending Angelo State University, she returned to the Hill Country and worked at the Boerne Home Depot becoming a well-loved head cashier.  She took pride working at Home Depot with her co-workers and enjoyed the opportunity to be of service in her work.  Katy loved dogs, especially the English Springer Spaniels her father bred, adopting her first friend, Pandora, in high school and her current Springer, Bandit, only in February.  Even in her weakness, Bandit knew he belonged to Katy and she looked after him. Her personal strength, character and stamina were evident in her yearlong battle with melanoma.  Katy did not complain of the great fatigue or pain, but took every challenge in stride and every day as any other day.  She attended church often with her father and step-mom and in her last days made the testimony of her life by accepting Jesus Christ as her savior.

Katy is preceded in death by grandparents, Gene and Joanne Reynolds and Curtis Skipping; aunt, Lisa Reynolds Glaser.

Katy is survived by her father, Andrew S. Reynolds and loving second mom, Andrea Reynolds of Center Point; mother, Shileen Skipping and spouse Tracy Skipping of Hamilton; grandmother, Dana Skipping of Gatesville; brother, Luke Skipping, his wife, Angel and son, Nikolas of Bastrop; step-brother, Darrell Westwood and wife Alyssa of Prosper; and adopted siblings, Tyler Skipping, Brandon Skipping and Gabby Skipping-Gill; and many aunts, uncles and cousins across Texas and Missouri.

A Celebration of Katy’s life will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Sonlight Chapel; located at 453 Kelly Street, Center Point, Texas, 78010. A meal will follow the service at the church. 

Flowers may be sent to the church or, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or other charity.
