Mary Lou Jones

Mary Lou Jones, 89, transitioned from earthly bonds to her Heavenly home on Tuesday July 11, 2023.
A resident of Boerne, Texas, in retirement, Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Dorris Ray Jones. Their blessed union leaves numerous family members to cherish Mary’s memory.

 She is survived by her three children and their spouses - Timothy Ray Jones (Mary Ann) of Georgetown, TX., Thomas Edward Jones (Tracy) of Kerrville, TX., and Debra Ann Mays (Harry) of Boerne, TX. Additional survivors include one brother, Jerry L. Bowen (Anniece) of Wills Point, TX.; sisters, Carolyn Sue Andrews of Allen, TX., Paula Leigh Bowen of Hickory, NC., Diana J Bowen of Gardiner, ME.; and sisters in law, Wanda Faye Hair of Deer Park, TX. and Pat Bowen of Cuero, TX. Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was born to Lewis R. Bowen and Dorothy Marian (Teutenberg) Bowen in Galveston, TX. on April 08, 1934. Her parents predeceased her, along with brothers, Robert Bowen, Joe Bowen and Lewis R. “Buck” Bowen, Jr. along with one great granddaughter, Joanna Jones.

Mary and Ray moved to the Texas Hill Country in 1992, upon her retirement from the Kmart Corporation.  Mary was a Servant of Christ from a young age, raised a Southern Baptist. She and her family attended Trinity Baptist of Kerrville at the time of her death. Mary was also a member of Buffalo, Texas - Chapter #157, Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Great Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be a granddaughter and a great grandson.

The Jones Family will receive visitors at Kerrville Funeral Home located at 1221 Junction Hwy Kerrville, TX. 78028 on Thursday, July 13,2023, from 6 to 8 PM. A celebration of Mary's life will be shared starting at 11 AM, Friday, July 14,2023, at Trinity Baptist Church located at 800 Jackson Rd. Kerrville, TX 78028.

Interment will be held at the Buffalo Cemetery in Leon County, TX. A service will be conducted at this, her final earthly resting spot, at 10AM Saturday, July 15,2023.
