Maureen Trueman-Fite

Maureen Wendy Trueman-Fite, 76, passed from this life on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at her residence in Mountain Home.

She was born June 19th, 1942 in Sheffield, England, to parents Hilda Ann Crabtree and John Thomas Trueman. In her younger years, Maureen enjoyed traveling through Europe and Asia with her beloved sister, Virginia (Ginny). In 1978 she came to the United States and lived with Ginny, who had previously moved to Clearwater, Florida. In 1979 Maureen moved to Houston, worked as a secretary in addition to her Avon business, and met Terry Fite. After dating for six years, they married and she later went to work as the office manager at his shop, Telfco Machine Works. Coincidentally, Maureen's father had also owned a machine shop when she was a child.


Maureen and Terry spent 36 wonderful years together, retiring in Mountain Home where she spent her last decades volunteering with the Daughters of the British Empire, the Brits Club and Red Chicks charities.

She was preceded in death by both her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband Terry Fite and sister Ginny Trueman.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 2nd from 5pm to 7pm at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028, phone (830) 895-5111. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3rd at 2pm at the main chapel, followed by internment at Center Point Cemetery.
