Mildred Faye  “Mil” Ploch Henley, 73, beloved wife, mother and sister passed from this life on July 23, 2021 in San Antonio Care facility.

She was born April 3, 1948 in Fredericksburg Texas to parents Arthur Anton “Otto” Ploch and Thelma Schellhase Ploch. Her early years were spent on the Schellhase farm in Comfort until her parents moved to Kerrville Texas.   She attended public school where she met the love of her life; Fred Tyler Henley Jr.   They married Oct. 3, 1964. Their love sustained them through good and difficult times for 57 years.

Mildred will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her devout Methodist faith.  “Mil” as she was known to family was generous in nature; had unconditional love for family and friends.  She also made the best German Potato rolls you have ever tasted using a family recipe handed down and treated her family to them on all major holidays.  She enjoyed gardening and canning.   Every year while she was physically able to she had a beautiful garden and canned dill pickles using her grandmother Sophia Schellhase’s recipe which she shared with the family.  She treasured the white peony flowers she grew in the front yard.

Mil was proceeded in death by her parents; Arthur and Thelma Ploch, niece, Brandi Karger; uncles: Chester and Roland Schellhase, aunts: Pauline Tyler; Esther Smith; and Dovie Braeutigam.

Survived by her devoted husband, Fred Henley; daughter, Diana Henley; son Sean, and daughter-in law (Angie) Henley, two sisters; Marlene Karger and Karen Ploch; grandchildren, Tyler Henley, Nichole Henley Rae, Devin Burrow and Brian Parks; three cousins;  Dewaine Braeutigam,  Jody Schellhase Fackelman; Carolyn Payton; three nephews, Brien Alexander (Camber) Chase Alexander (Angela) and Clay Karger; in addition to five great nieces and two great nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, August 17,2021 at Comfort Cemetery, Comfort, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home (830) 895-5111.
