Oral Lee “Skipper” Beasley, 80, of Center Point, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 22, 2023 at The Sanctuary of Kerrville, 2001 Singing Wind Drive.

Oral Lee Beasley, known as “Skipper” by his family and friends was born October 5, 1943 in Navarro County, Texas to Truman Cecil and Zettie Thomas Beams Beasley.  He grew up in Alice, Texas and graduated from William Adams High School.  He served honorably in the United States Army from 1963-1966 in the 6th Artillery Unit as a Specialist 5.  Skipper worked 37 years for Occidental Petroleum in the oil field.  He worked in the Gulf of Mexico and in Doha, Qatar and proudly retired as an offshore superintendent.  Skipper adored his grandchildren and being called “Popo”; he was very proud of and loved spending time with his whole family.  His hobbies included collecting guns, playing pool and poker, barbecuing, riding on his tractor, and watching pro football, western movies, and civil war history. He was also an excellent cook. Skipper was a member of the National Rifle Association. 

Skipper is preceded in death by his father, Truman Beasley; mother, Zettie Allen; and son, Martin Barrera.

Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Patricia “Patsy” Beasley; daughters, Carmella Nelson, Connie Beasley; sons, Brian Beasley and wife Liz, John Barrera and wife Sheena; brothers, Truman Beasley, Larry Beasley and wife Laurie, Danny Allen and wife Delight; sister, Debbie Clark; grandchildren, Zane Beasley, Will Beasley, Cara Beasley, Michael Nelson, Audrey Nelson, Kaylee Barrera, Elliott Barrera, Caren Forhetz, and Mason Carter; and numerous nephews and nieces. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Sanctuary of Kerrville, 2001 Singing Wind Dr., Kerrville, TX 78028.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Klaus Schroeder, Dr. Marco De Los Santos, Dr. Ramon Gonzalez, Dr. Courtney Usry; special nurses, Courtnay and Sarah; Sid Peterson Home Health Care Staff, Palliative Care Staff & Hospice.
