Patsy Sue Graves Lehman, a beloved matriarch, passed from this life on December23,2025, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on May 28, 1930, in Old Gulf, Texas, Matagorda County, to Alice Adams Graves and Leonard Maxwell Graves.
On February 10, 1951, Patsy married the love of her life, Richard Carl Lehman, at Reeves Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love and resilience, raising their four children: Steve, Gina, John, and Martin. Their enduring marriage lasted an impressive 70 years, showcasing a partnership rooted in mutual respect and support.
Patsy's contributions to her community were significant and varied having chartered the Women’s Aeronautical Association. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and manage a dress shop downtown for 13 years. In addition, she played a vital role in the local business scene by chartering the Downtown Merchants Association. Her commitment to civic engagement was evident through her memberships in the Women’s Chamber, her service on the Board of Directors of the Kerrville Chamber, and her involvement with the American Businesswomen’s Association and Republican Women of Kerr County. She was also a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Patsy’s legacy is marked not only by her professional achievements but also by her dedication to family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her eldest son, Stephen, her parents, Alice and Leonard Graves, her brother, L.M. (Bo) Graves, Jr., her stepfather, John A. Kennedy, and her stepmother, Anne Hawkins Graves.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gina Lehman Stewart, her sons John (Della) Lehman and Martin (Debbie) Lehman, and her brother, James R. (Claire) Graves. Patsy also leaves behind a vibrant family, including seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom cherish the memories of her warmth and gracious presence.
In keeping with Patsy’s wishes, no service is pending. Arrangements are being handled by Kerrville Funeral Home in Kerrville, Texas. Her spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who knew her, and her lasting impact on family and community will be fondly remembered.
