KERRVILLE- Phillip L. Duncan, 71, of Kerrville, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, December 25, 2014, in Kerrville Texas.
Phillip was born on December 30, 1942, in Pearson, Arkansas to Qentin (Q.R.) and Dolly L Duncan. Phil served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964.
After being honorably discharged, he went to work for Fisher Controls, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was then transferred to Sherman, Texas, to the new plant that was built there, in 1977. He moved with his wife and son. During the 25 plus years they lived there, Phil was a part of many lives. Through Bringing a group of 20 Cub Scouts all the way to the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 66. He was a member of the Masons and Eastern Star. He enjoyed fishing, which he was a member of the Bass Pro Club, camping, and building things with his hands. After retiring from Fisher Controls in 2000, he and Sandy lived the RV'ers life of "on the road". Finally the wheels fell off in Kerrville, at the Take-It-Easy RV Park, where he worked doing the things he always loved to do,
Phil was wonderful husband and father, he was also a great friend to everyone he came in contact with. He was always about his family in everything he did or built.
He was preceded in death by his father; Quentin Duncan and his mother, Dolly Teague and step mother, Lillie Duncan.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife; Sandy; son, Shawn; daughter-in-law, Liz. The smiles of his life were his grandchildren, Noah, Makaylah, Quentin (Q.R.) and Raiden (R.W.), sisters; Doris Bynum of Merced, California, Vickie Fishstrom of Elk Grove, California, Laurie Harden of Livermore, California, sister-in-law; Sherrill Snider of Sherman, Texas, brother-in-law; Chuck Frazer and wife Phyllis of Mckinney, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be from 2-4 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015, in the clubhouse of the Take -IT-Easy RV Park 703 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of one's choice.
