Ramona Torres Gonzales

 

Ramona Torres Gonzales, age 92, of passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, in Kerrville, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born to parents, Materno Torres and Isabel Guajurdo in Fredericksburg, Texas on October 21, 1931. Ramona was raised in Fredericksburg, Texas until she met and married the love of her life, Crispin O. Gonzales. They married in July of 1951 in Ruby, Texas. Ramona was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all that knew her. She worked most of her life as a nurse’s aid and housekeeper. Ramona loved doing many things in her free time. She loved listening to Spanish music, gardening, sitting outside in the sunshine, spending time with family and barbeques. Her most favorite thing to do was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ramona was a great believer of God and her faith was strong. We knew when she was joking and when she was being serious.    

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Crispin O. Gonzales; and two sons, Daniel T. Gonzales and Garvel Gonzales; she was the last survivor of thirteen brothers and sisters.   

 

Ramona is survived by her daughter, Eva Bazan and husband Ernest Bazan; son, Christobal Gonzales and wife Carolino; granddaughter, Michelle Rios and husband Benjamin Rios; grandsons, Crispin Reyes and wife Blanca, Adrian Reyes, Xylina Bazan, John Bazan, Audrey Bazan and Ashton Bazan of Kerrville, Texas, Gabriel Gonzales and wife Nancy, Daniel Gonzales Jr. and wife Angela, Ismael Gonzales and wife Bobbie of Mansfield, Texas; great grandchildren, Patriz Rodriguez (Jessie), Stephaine Rodriguez (Jorjan), Estephan Rodriguez (Rachel), Jade Reyes (Nathan), Kaya and Leah Reyes all from Kerrville, Texas, Angel Reyes (Tiara), Pricilla, Ruby, Francisco, and Maya Reyes from Dunell, Minnesota, Lacey Hackett from La Cross Wisconsin, Regin Torres, Amaya, Malik and Ezra of Kerrville, Texas, Victoria Gonzales Carter, Vincent Gonzales, Adam, Ella, Crispin, Marissa Emily Gonzales, Maria, Donitilla Gonzales from Mansfield, Texas; great great grandchildren, Jourany Dove Davis from Kerrville, Texas, Banksleigh Evette Reyes from Fairmont, Minnesota, and Emilo Scott Martinez from La Crosse, Wisconsin; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews not mentioned but dearly loved.   

 

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Peterson Hospice Care, Dr. Young, all the nurses that came to help us with my mom. Mrs. Rebecca Rodriguez, thank you for helping us at the most needed time in her life. Each of you are a blessing.             

 

The family will receive friends for a Visitation from 1pm to 6pm, Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Kerrville Funeral Home with the Rosary starting at 6pm. Mass will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Norte Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, Texas.
