Ramona Ontiveros

Ramona Sanchez Ontiveros, 84, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on February 16, 2017. She was born in Yancey, Texas on September 30, 1932 to Manual Sanchez and Margarita (Seelig) Sanchez.

Ramona grew up in Yancey, TX where she married Paulo Ontiveros. They later settled in Kerrville where she raised her children. She worked as a nurse's aid at the Kerrville State Hospital and in housekeeping at Peterson Hospital. Ramona was well known in the community for her kindness and quick humor. Her biggest accomplishment in life was providing for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, BINGO, watching the Dallas Cowboys, dancing and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manual Sanchez and Margarite (Seelig) Sanchez, son; Pablo Ontiveros Jr., daughter; Corina Ontiveros, brothers; Tomas, Luis and Rodolfo, sisters; Dominga, Angelita, Delfina and Theodora.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughters; Gloria and Dora Martinez of Kerrville, TX and Sylvia Ontiveros of Yancey, TX, sister; Irene Pruneda of Kerrville, TX and numerous grand children and great grandchildren who she adored.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made Peterson Hospice of Kerrville,TX.

A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Sunday, February 19, 2017, in the main Chapel at Kerrville Funeral Home,1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX 78028. Interment to follow by Hondo Funeral Home at Yancey Cemetery, Yancy, TX.
