Obituary

Richard “Casey” Stover, 45, passed away on March 11, 2026.

Casey was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and generous spirit. He spent much of his life working as a welder, primarily in Louisiana, traveling where work was needed. He took pride in his craft and was never afraid of hard work, building his life through determination and resilience.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and outgoing personality. Casey had a natural ability to make others laugh and put others at ease, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him. From his younger years, when he was known as the class clown among friends, to moments that brought joy to entire crowds, he lived life authentically and with a lighthearted spirit.

Casey was also someone people could depend on. A skilled “fix-it” man, he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His loyalty, generosity, and kindness were evident in the way he cared for others.

Above all, Casey was a devoted father. He is survived by his children, Laney Stover of San Antonio, Texas, and Lukas and Landon Stover of Arizona, who were the greatest joy of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Angela Chambers and Jacque Wertz of Arkansas; five nephews; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Hickman, and his father, Herbert “Herby” Stover Jr.

"Rest easy, Daddy. I love you with all my heart and will carry you with me always. I know you were greeted by those you loved (Beast), and that you are now together again—free and at peace."

The family expresses their sincere gratitude for the love and support shown during this time.

Services with integrity, pride, and honor are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home. (830) 895-5111
