Shirlie Harris, 96, of Fort Worth, TX passed from this life on January 4, 2019 at a local care facility in Kerrville, TX. A grave side service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2PM at Greenwood Cemetery, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2PM at First Presbyterian Church, 800 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Shirlie M. Harris was born July 22, 1922 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She grew up in Muskogee, OK and moved to Fort Worth in 1943, married Jack Wilborn and together they had one son, Tim Wilborn. As a child Tim has many fond memories of attending Broadway performances in Fort Worth with his mother. Shirlie served as a church secretary at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church and was also a fashion model. In the 1970s she and her second husband, Bat Weimer, built the Navajo Telephone Company. Through the years she served on many boards, including The Ronald McDonald House, The Museum of Science and History as well as The Fort Worth Symphony. Shirlie had many passions in life, she enjoyed helping people and contributing to many charity endeavors, she was a proud sponsor to graduating high school members of the Ridglea Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth granting first year tuition scholarships for many years.

She was a lifetime Presbyterian and encouraged her son, Tim, to pursue a career in church music where he is currently the organist at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville.

Shirlie is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack Wilborn; second husband, Bat Weimer; and third husband Roger Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved son, Tim Wilborn and step-sons, Scott Harris, Bobby Weimer and Howard Weimer.

In lieu of floral arrangements contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church Music Concert Fund, 800 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.
