Theresa M. Holloman

The time has come to celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Theresa Holloman. Dad called her Tece, her grandkids called her Jammer and we just called her Mom. She passed away peacefully on Saturday March 2, 2024 in Bandera, TX with her family nearby. She was 91 years old.

Theresa was born on September 9, 1932 in Stamford, TX to Joseph Robert and Mary Theresa Moore. She was their only child, but Theresa grew up in a happy and supportive extended Hambright family (on her mother’s side), all of whom lived locally near Abilene TX. She attended Abilene High School and North Texas State Teacher’s College in Denton, TX.

She met the love of her life, John Logue Holloman, at high school in Abilene.

They married on March 21, 1953 in Abilene, TX and had two children: Jeffrey Moore and Susan Lea Holloman. Theresa was a devoted and caring wife and mother, who always put her family first. Theresa and John moved their little family to Lubbock, TX, Odessa, TX and then Victoria, TX. She was active in her church community wherever she lived. Upon retirement to Kerrville, TX, she enjoyed playing golf, reading mystery novels and solving crossword puzzles. She maintained a close-knit group of dear friends from Abilene, Lubbock, Odessa and Kerrville, throughout her life.

Theresa was a kind, generous, and compassionate woman, with a contagious sense of humor – she always seemed very happy – and made others happy, as well. She maintained her close ties to her extended family, regularly attending the annual Hambright Family reunion, as well as visits and trip to see family for holidays and special occasions. She was a role model and a source of inspiration for many, especially for her children and grandchildren, who admired her strength, courage, and wisdom.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place, reunited with her husband, who preceded her in death in 2004. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time. We appreciate your kindness and sympathy. In lieu of any flowers or gifts, please consider a donation the Roby Cemetery Association in Roby Texas; Roby Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 304, Roby TX 79543.
