Vada Cobb

Vada Eileen Herring Cobb,83, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Eileen was born to the late M.R. Herring and Vada Wells Herring on August 4, 1938, in Raymondville, Texas. She graduated from Raymondville High School in 1956 and attended Durham Business College in San Antonio. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Paul Cobb, on November 8, 1956, later moving to Brownsville. In 1958 they moved to Odessa where they lived for 44 years until moving to Kerrville in 2002. Eileen is survived by her husband and her three children: Michael Wayne Cobb of Lubbock, Derek Andrew Cobb (Jennifer) of McKinney, and Jeri Lynn Huffman (David) of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother (R. D. Herring), and sister (Beverly Finigan).

Eileen and Jerry Paul were married for 65 wonderful years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and Mamaw who always served her husband and family before herself. Eileen accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult and raised her children by His example. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Jubilee Bible Study class.

Eileen always made a welcome home and loved to spend time outside with Jerry tending her flower garden. She enjoyed caring for her husband and her cat, Frisky, and feeding the neighborhood cats, birds, and deer. She was an accomplished seamstress and avid baker. Her spare time was spent puffing together puzzles made from her son's landscape photography. Eileen had a quiet poise and a witty sense of humor often sharing stories and words of encouragement with her loved ones.

Eileen was promoted to Heaven on September 21, 2021, at Peterson Regional Medical Center at the age of 83 with her loved ones at her side. A private memorial was held at her home where many fond memories and stories were shared by her family as they remembered the beautiful woman she was and the full life she lived. Her ashes will be interred in Odessa, Texas at a future date.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home.  (830) 895-5111
