Mrs. Virginia F. Boedeker went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 19, 2002, at a care center in Boerne, after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be at 2 PM Saturday June 22, 2002 in the chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Hornung officiating.Virginia was born December 12, 1920 in Little Rock, Ark. Her family later moved to Dallas where she was raised. She was a graduate of the Hockaday School of Texas and attended Southern Methodist University. While there, she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and selected as a Rotunda Beauty. She married George Murphy Boedeker on December 21, 1945. She and George resided in Dallas for many years and had five children before moving to Houston and later to San Antonio. Together, she and George served God in many capacities including the Gideons International. Virginia was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville. She did volunteer service with Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, Christian Assistance Ministry, KISD Mentoring and was training to be a Stephen Minister at the onset of her illness.She was preceded in death by her husband.Survivors include two sons, George M. Boedeker and his wife, Anabeth, of Houston and Michael Boedeker of San Antonio three daughters Diane Yarbrough and her husband, Grady, of Boerne, Carol Surley and her husband, Rick, also of Boerne and Ginny Kotara and her husband, Rick, of Kerrville one brother, Jerry Fullinwider of Dallas 13 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the caring staff of VistaCare Hospice and in particular, to her nurse Diana Liljedahl.Memorials may be made to VistaCare Hospice, 420 Water St., Ste. 104, Kerrville, Texas 78028 or to CAM, 709 Morris Street, Kerrville, Texas 78028.Online tributes may be made on this website.Kerrville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
