William Baumann

On June 11, 2025 William F. (Bill) Baumann of Kerrville, Texas passed away at the age of 99 years in his home.

Bill was born July 6, 1925 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to William and Emilie (Grimm) Baumann and Raised in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

He enlisted in the army in 1943 and was captured in Germany during World War II. After being liberated and leaving the army, he went to the Colorado School of Mines and began his career as a miner. His career took him to Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Texas, Wyoming, and Missouri.

In 1957, he married Gwendolyn Dean. He was preceded in death by wife Gwendolyn, son Frank Dean, daughter Eileen, sisters Shirley, Elizabeth and brother David. Bill is survived by daughters Bonnie and Diane, Four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

After retirement, Bill and Gwen moved to Kerrville, Texas. While here, he joined the Rotary and Friends of the Library. He also delivered Meals on Wheels for 23 years, and served as a trainer for new drivers.

He was loved by many and may he rest in peace.

A celebration of life will be held on what would have been his 100th birthday, 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Kerrville Funeral Home.
