William Eugene Eakin, Jr.

William Eugene Eakin Jr, 74 years of age. Passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at his child-hood home in Ingram with his family by his side.

Bill was born on January 16, 1949 in Kerrville, Texas to William Sr. and Lena Lois Eakin. After graduating high school at Tivy, class of 1968, he started building houses with his father for Sam Taylor. During that time, he met Faye LaMerle Moore and were married on June 3, 1973. Shortly after they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where they were married for 20 years. Bill lived in Corpus Christi for 45 years. When he first moved to CC he worked for Spohn Hospital as a cabinet maker then got hired on with Coastal States Refinery for 24 years and Valero refinery for 18 years, for a total of 42 years. 

Proceeded by death is both his parents, Lena Lois Sublett- Eakin and William "Bill" Eakin Sr.; both of his grandparents, Jesse Sublett, Ida Mary Schumaher-Sublett, Barney Ruffin Eakin, and Sarah Frances Danielly-Eakin.

William leaves behind his sisters, Lois Schlieter of Kerrville, Ida Newman of Richardson, Texas; daughters, Elizabeth Eakin of Baytown, Sarah Leal (Brian)of Ingram, Texas; grandchildren, Kaden, Hannah, Briar and Taylour; great grandson, Kaiser.

Pallbearers will be Kaden Leal, Cody Leal, Roy Henderson, David Turner, David Bartels, and Mike Cox. 

The family invites you to join them for a visitation on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm at the Kerrville Funeral Home. Services will follow on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1pm at the Kerrville Funeral Home located at 1221 Junction Highway in Kerrville, Texas.
