William Lee Peck, Jr., 76, passed away on October 31, 2021 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He was the son of the late William Lee Peck, Sr. and Mary Ruth (Miller) Peck. The oldest of 10 children, he was born on September 29th, 1945 in Altoona, PA. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1965 where he played various sports. He especially enjoyed football and was the quarterback of his high school football team. On November 9, 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Rose A. Lockawich at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg, PA and they were married for 53 beautiful years.

After graduation, he enlisted into the Marine Corps (1965-1991) where he served in multiple conflicts ranging from the Vietnam War (Counteroffensive Phase III Campaign), Beirut (Lebanon Peacekeeping Mission), Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury) and the Gulf War (Desert Shield). He retired a Gunnery Sergeant with numerous awards, decorations and ribbons (Purple Heart with one star, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corp Achievement Medal with Valor, Combat Action Ribbon with Gold Star etc...). He was a badass, he had eight rows of “salad” and he was especially proud to have served his country.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spoiling his grandkids, golfing, smoking cigars, telling stories, and borderline inappropriate jokes. He was artistic, painted in high school and then later picked it up again as a hobby after retirement.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rose, his sister Kathy; and his brothers Paul, Fritz, and Blake. He is survived by his sisters: Stella, Eva and Tammie; his brothers Tom and Barry; three children: William, Stephanie and Erica; and six grandchildren: Olivia, Haley, Brandon, Cora, Nathan and Lily.
